Ban on Conversion Therapy

Ban on Conversion Therapy
2017

In 2017, Tampa’s City Council decided it was time to put an end to the harmful practice of conversion therapy for minors.

However, not everyone was on board. In Vazzo v City of Tampa,

two therapists who were still living in the past decided to challenge the ban, wanting to continue their outdated methods.

Thankfully, organizations like Equality Florida, NCLR, and the Southern Poverty Law Center, stepped in to support the ban, reminding everyone that Florida was moving forward, not backward.
