Conversion Therapy Appeal + First Gay Mayor

Conversion Therapy Appeal + First Gay Mayor
2019

In October 2019, a U.S. District Court decided that Tampa’s ban on conversion therapy wasn't valid

saying the state, not the city, had the final say on mental health rules. Tampa wasn’t having it and appealed.

Unfortunately, the appeal was denied and the ban on conversion therapy was swept aside like seaweed on the shore.

The same year, Tampa’s first openly gay mayor, Jane Castor, was elected!
